The Vancouver Chopin Society welcomes pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk for a concert on October 21 at 7:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church.

A stunningly virtuosic pianist, Gavrylyuk is internationally recognised for his electrifying and poetic performances. He is artist-in-residence at Wigmore Hall for the 2023-24 season, performing a total of three recitals, and is also artist-in-residence at Chautauqua Institution, where he leads the piano program as an artistic advisor.

Gavrylyuk’s last Vancouver appearance involved an enthralling performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2. For his upcoming recital, he is playing works by Haydn and Chopin, as well as Mussorgsky’s masterful Pictures at an Exhibition.

To facilitate audience enjoyment of this performance, a screen will be set up so that everyone can watch the artist closely, wherever they may be sitting.

Gavrylyuk’s detailed artist’s biography, programme information, and links to purchase tickets and subscriptions are available here.
