Experience a special live evening with David Suzuki and Tara Cullis as they make their acting debut in the unique play What You Won’t Do For Love at the Vancouver Playhouse from February 13 to 17 at 7:30 pm.

This intimate theatre experience shines new light on Suzuki and Cullis’s 50-year relationship as partners and environmental activists, and asks whether the love we have for each other can save the planet. The play first premiered to sold-out audiences at Luminato Festival in 2022, and Vancouver Civic Theatres is now presenting its West Coast premiere in Suzuki and Cullis’s hometown.

Actors and real-life couple Miriam Fernandes and Sturla Alvsvaag navigate a poetic and playful dialogue on stage with Suzuki and Cullis as they share stories and insights. The play also spotlights Cullis’s tireless behind-the-scenes work, which has made tangible impacts to the Canadian climate movement and helped Suzuki become the globally renowned figure he is today. Cullis has been a driving force behind the David Suzuki Foundation, and her remarkable contributions include founding the Coastal First Nations Great Bear Initiative, a project to safeguard the ecology of B.C.’s Great Bear Rainforest.
