Vancouver Jewish Film Festival continues their week of screenings at Cineplex Fifth Avenue Cinemas this week, with movies playing every day at 1 pm and 8 pm until March 16.

March 14 at 1 pm is the Canadian premiere of Dutch film director Bianca Stigter’s documentary Three Minutes a Lengthening, narrated by Helena Bonham Carter. Winner of the Best Documentary Award from the prestigious Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the movie transforms rare colour home video footage shot in 1938 Poland into a testament to victims of the Holocaust.

Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song comes to the big screen on March 16 at 1 pm, a documentary that chronicles the internationally renowned songwriter’s life.

Further films being shown include Lost Transport, My Neighbor Adolf, Our (Almost Completely True) Story, and My Boss Charlie.

The festival runs from March 9 to 26, online and in person. Cinema screenings continue from March 17 to 19 at the Norman and Annette Rothstein Theatre.

Tickets and more information can be found at the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival.
