March ’68.

In-person screenings at the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival will come to an end at the Norman and Annette Rothstein Theatre from March 17 to 19—but film lovers need not fret, as several movies will be available for online streaming up to March 26.

On the lineup for March 18 is Karaoke starring Sasson Gabay, a comedic cautionary tale on love and friendships.

March 19 is movie marathon madness, with four films being shown back-to-back. The day will begin at 1 pm with March ’68, a powerful time capsule of student riots in Poland, followed by Alegria, a tale about Jewish ancestry in Melilla, Spain.

Screenings will continue into the evening with Matchmaking at 5:45 pm, a Romeo and Juliet-like saga in which two singles—one Ashkenazi, the other Mizrahi—face a love roadblock from their families. Concluding the night at 8 pm is a blazing Italian romance, The Shadow of the Day, that touches upon antisemitism during the country’s Fascist regime.

Tickets for the shows and more information can be found at the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival.
