The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presents Black Panther in Concert at the Orpheum on February 9 and 10 at 7 pm, as part of Movie Nights with the VSO presented by TELUS.
In 2018, Marvel Studios’s Black Panther quickly became a global sensation and cultural phenomenon, showing a new dimension of what superhero films could be. Now, audiences can relive the excitement of T’Challa becoming king and battling Killmonger, all while the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs Ludwig Göransson’s Oscar-winning score live to picture.
The concert will be led by American conductor Anthony Parnther, who is the music director and conductor of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra and the Southeast Symphony & Chorus in Los Angeles. Massamba Diop, vocalist and renowned master of the Senegalese tama talking drum, will also be featured in the performance.
Tickets to see Black Panther in Concert, which is approximately 160 minutes with an intermission, are available via the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
