Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir announces Sing We Now of Christmas concert series
The highly anticipated seasonal event features performances at four local venues plus a new virtual concert
Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir (VWMC) is thrilled to announce its 2021 Christmas concert series, Sing We Now of Christmas. With live performances at four local venues and a special online performance, the festive series marks the end of a two-year concert hiatus for the beloved choir.
Following the tradition of VWMC Christmas concerts, the choir will support young musicians by sharing the stage with three high-school choral ensembles as well as two young vocalists who are the recipients of the choir’s 2021 student bursaries.
The choir will also be joined this year by two outstanding local instrumentalists, saxophonist Julia Nolan and flutist Paolo Bortolussi. Guest artists will vary for each performance, with a full lineup listed on the VWMC website.
VWMC is also thrilled to co-present its opening concert on December 5 with the legendary Winter Harp at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.
New this year is an online concert professionally recorded at Shaughnessy Heights United Church. Patrons will have access to this concert to share the joy of Christmas at their leisure from the comfort of their homes through to the New Year.
VWMC is led by music director Jonathan Quick and pianist Karen Lee-Morlang.
