Vetta Chamber Music’s 38th season is all about the mysteries of the human heart. In line with this philosophy, its upcoming concert Music of the Heart will feature a range of beautiful, passionate, and tender music played by Toronto-based guest pianist Talisa Blackman.

Blackman will perform excerpts from Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, and will be joined by violinist Joan Blackman and cellist Zoltan Rozsnyai in two highly romantic piano trios: Johannes Brahms’s Piano Trio in B major, Opus 8, and Armenian composer Arno Babajanian’s Piano Trio in F sharp minor, a piece with a tear-jerking slow movement composed during the Soviet era in 1952.

The concert will be performed at the West Point Grey United Church on January 26 at 2 pm, the West Vancouver United Church on January 27 at 7:30 pm, Pyatt Hall on January 28 at 2 pm, and ArtSpring on January 29 at 2:30 pm.

Tickets and details are at Vetta Chamber Music.
