Johannes Brahms and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart both saved their best and brightest ideas for viola quintets. Vetta Chamber Music has designed the string player’s ultimate program with String Quintets That Rock.

The virtual concert features Mozart’s String Quintet No. 4 in G minor, K. 516 and Brahms’s String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 111.

Bringing these masterpieces to life are five musicians who rock in their own right, each highly accomplished and acclaimed: Joan Blackman and David Gillham on violin; Yariv Aloni and Emilie Grimes playing viola; and cellist Zoltan Rozsnyai.

Recorded live at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC to be enjoyed at home, the virtual concert is available for viewing anytime between April 15 at 2 pm PDT and April 18 at midnight PDT. An online reception featuring a live chat with the artists takes place April 18 at 2 pm PDT.

Single tickets are $20, and supported tickets are $5.
