In honour of Earth Day on April 22, VIFF is presenting a series of four specially curated screenings until May 2 at the VIFF Centre’s Vancity Theatre and Lochmaddy Studio Theatre.
In Robert Kenner and Melissa Robledo’s Food, Inc. 2, the team behind the Oscar-nominated 2008 impact documentary returns with an update on what’s changed—and what hasn’t—in the world’s reliance on industrial farming and processed food. Elsewhere, writing-directing team Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano’s buddy comedy A Difficult Year brings a wry original perspective to the serious theme of climate change denialism.
Viewers can also see Thomas Acton’s “feel-good” climate change film Close the Divide, and Jean-Philippe Marquis’ B.C.-shot feature debut Silvicola, about the intersection of forests, man, and industry. April 22 screenings of Silvicola and Close the Divide will feature special guests in panel discussions and Q&As.
Tickets and more details can be found at VIFF.
