Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be alive and kicking at 105? In her new comedy, SUPER SENIORS, Kathryn Shaw takes audiences to the Fairfield Residence to meet three women over the age of 105 who have differing responses to their extraordinarily long lives.

Shaw’s own grandmother lived to be 106 and her mom to 105. Based on experience with her own ancient family members, the writer brings insight and humour to the conundrum of extreme old age.

Shaw was the artistic director of Studio 58, the professional theatre training program at Langara College, for 35 years. In SUPER SENIORS, she roughly models one character on her grandmother, one on her mother, and the third on her imagining what she would be like at 105. Shaw takes on the role of Elizabeth alongside actors Patti Allan as Mildred and Annabel Kershaw as Hildy.

Directed by Anita Rochon and presented by Western Gold Theatre as a mainstage production, SUPER SENIORS has its world premiere from June 6 to 23 at PAL Studio Theatre. Performances take place Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm and at matinees on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from June 8 at 2 pm.
