The mountains are alive with the sound of music, thanks to the Whistler Summer Concert Series.

The free outdoor performances are an iconic Whistler summer experience, with Whistler and Blackcomb mountains providing a stunning backdrop to the Whistler Olympic Plaza stage with its great lawn.

The 2024 series kicks off on Canada Day (Monday, July 1), and from there concerts take place weekly on Thursdays and Fridays with the exclusion of Crankworx (the mountain-bike festival runs July 19 to 28). Live DJ sets happen before every show, with headlining acts starting at 7:30 pm.

Here’s the exciting lineup:

July 1, Walk off the Earth: The band is a JUNO-winning multi-platinum musical phenomenon.

July 4, Aysanabee: From Oji-Cree ancestry, he is a two-time JUNO-winning alternative indie artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter .

July 5, Sheepdogs: Canada’s JUNO award-winning act has a blend of Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger.

July 11, Ibibio Sound Machine: The genre-defying group seamlessly fuses elements of Afrobeat, funk, house, post-punk, and disco for a kaleidoscopic sonic landscape that transcends cultural boundaries.

July 12, New Breed Brass Band: The group boasts the rhythmic versatility of jazz, funk, and hip-hop combined with the soul of New Orleans’ street culture.

August 8, Astrocolor: The act was named Instrumental Artist of the Year at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards.

August 9, The Suffers: Their sound is a merger of ’70s R&B, disco, jazz, and contemporary gospel.

August 15, Fort Knox Five: The group promises a night of bass, funk, disco, boogie, house, and breaks.

August 16, Colin James: The guitarist-songwriter is legendary, with multiple JUNO awards to his name.

August 22, Trans-Canada Highwaymen: The supergroup is made up of Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness), Chris Murphy (Sloan), Craig Northey (Odds), and Steven Page (ex-Barenaked Ladies).

August 23, Ocie Elliott: The B.C. duo of Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy dreams up dusty folk.
