Arts Umbrella’s Splash 2024 Art Auction raises $1.75 Million for youth arts education

ARTS UMBRELLA HAS announced it raised $1.75 million for youth arts education at this year’s Splash Art Auction. Drawing a capacity crowd of 550 guests, the 42nd annual event Canada’s saw Dana Claxton’s LED firebox, Headdress – Shadae and her Girlz go for a record amount of $105,000. 

Presented by Nicola Wealth, the auction took place at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on October 5. Guests were treated to student performances along with food and drink at the curated art action, which featured 90 pieces by established and emerging Canadian artists, such as Marie Khouri, Douglas Coupland, Graham Gillmore, Maru Aponte, Ron Moppett, Andy Dixon, Shuvinai Ashoona, and Meryl McMaster.  

Funds raised go toward scholarships, bursaries, and programming for young people in Metro Vancouver and across Canada.
