As part of the much-anticipated 10th-anniversary Modulus Festival, Music on Main is bringing back its beloved pandemic-era project “As dreams are made” to the Annex (823 Seymour Street) from November 5 to 10.

“As dreams are made” is Music on Main artistic director David Pay‘s very personal response to the global pandemic. Inspired by the magic of musicians in live performance, this 15-minute production was created specifically for one audience member and one performer to connect safely through music that brings people together.

It’s an immersive event that is at once intimate and comforting, inventive and dreamlike. It’s a chance to take part in an incredibly personal experience that, according to one audience member, opens the ears and stimulates the imagination”. (See the trailer below for a better idea of what the experience is like.)

These brief, socially distanced live performances are part of Music on Main’s The Tempest Project, a full-length immersive work that will premiere in 2024.

For this limited run during the 10th Modulus Festival, “As dream are made” some of the featured musicians of the Tempest Project Company include: Chloe Kim, on violin; Dailin Hsieh, on zheng; Jonathan Lo, on cello; and Saina Khaledi, on santour.
