Arts Umbrella announces its 2021 Splash Art Auction and Gala fundraiser to be a record-breaker
Featuring works donated by local artists, the event brought in more than $1.5 million
ARTS UMBRELLA IS reporting its most successful fundraising event to date, with its 2021 Splash Art Auction & Gala raising more than $1.5 million in gross proceeds.
Funds raised for the non-profit organization dedicated to youth arts education will go toward scholarships and bursaries to ensure equitable access to the arts for young people throughout Metro Vancouver.
The October 23 happening, held virtually and in-person at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver presented by Nicola Wealth, drew more than 600 guests. People could browse artworks and place bids on pieces donated by the likes of Dana Claxton, Tiko Kerr, Angela Grossmann, and Stan Douglas in advance of the live event, when bidding took place in person and online.
“I am incredibly proud of what we achieved at this year’s Splash Art Auction & Gala,” Paul Larocque, president and CEO of Arts Umbrella, said in a release. “The success of this year’s event is a testament to Arts Umbrella’s creativity and resiliency as well as the community’s commitment to youth arts education. The funds raised this year are remarkable and will allow us to continue inspiring young peoples’ lives.”
