Local musicians put on a fundraising concert for the advocacy arm of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival
Asian Persuasion All-Stars’ fundraiser for Elimin8Hate happens September 19 at LanaLou’s Restaurant at 7 pm PDT.
THE ASIAN PERSUASION All-Stars will take to the stage this weekend in an all-ages musical fundraiser in support of Elimi8Hate.
The advocacy arm of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Elimin8Hate (E8) strives for racial equity and an inclusive society for all Asian-Canadians.
Its mission is to harness the power of arts, film, and media to eradicate racism against Asian-Canadians; raise awareness of historic, systemic, and persistent anti-Asian sentiment; advocate for social change; and empower people to find their voice to affect change.
Makin up the Asian Persuasion All-Stars are Tim Chan (China Syndrome), Tony Lee (Eddy D & The Sexbombs), Eric Lowe (The VanRays), Mike Chang (China Syndrome), Brooke Fujiyama (The Shit Talkers), Felix Fung (Sunday Morning), Greg Hathaway (Roots Roundup), Tamla Mah and Gabe Ng (Abel Collective), Brian Minato (Slip~Ons), Ashton Sweet (Balkan Shmalkan), Kevin Tang (Camaro 67), Ron Yamauchi (Kele Fleming), and Norine Braun (Norine Braun).
The venue is LanaLou’s Restaurant at 362 Powell Street, which will be serving food and drinks and is wheelchair-accessible.
