Ballet BC enters a new season of performances in Vancouver with DAWN at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from November 7 to 9 at 8 pm. Pre-show artist talks take place each evening at 7 pm.

DAWN features three anticipated works: a world premiere from visionary French choreographer Pierre Pontvianne, the return of Dutch choreographic duo Imre van Opstal and Marne van Opstal’s Heart Drive, and a reimagining of Crystal Pite’s Frontier. The program curated by artistic director Medhi Walerski also marks the mainstage debut of Ballet BC’s new Emerging Artists for the 2024-25 season.

For DAWN, Pontvianne presents Cloud Poem, created with the Ballet BC dancers through a collaborative process that explored the idea of quietness. The van Opstals’s acclaimed Heart Drive takes audiences on an electric, pleasure-driven ride, while Pite’s 24-dancer Frontier is a rare opportunity to experience one of her renowned large-scale works.

Tickets and more details are at Ballet BC.
