Vancouver Chamber Choir welcomes new voices in A Choral Feast 3, October 19
With the participation of several local vocal ensembles, 200 singers will come together as one
THEY SAY THERE’S strength in numbers, and the adage certainly holds true for Vancouver Chamber Choir’s upcoming Choral Feast 3. No less than 200 choristers will come together to sing as one at the highly anticipated festive concert on October 19 at the Orpheum.
The third edition of the musical extravaganza focuses on young singers and ensembles, with performances by the UBC University Singers helmed by Graeme Langager and two new groups: Intertidal Choral Ensemble under the direction of Jaime Yoon and Nabi Vocal Ensemble led by Tyler Baek, Marko Sukunda, and Christian Tolentino. Joining them is Vancouver Bach Choir, directed by assistant conductor Cathrie Yuen. Kari Turunen will lead the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
And it’s been announced that founder and conductor emeritus Jon Washburn will make a guest appearance to lead the combined choirs in a rousing grand finale.
With so many voices joining together in unison, it’s no wonder the show has been hailed as “the choral event of the season".
