BC Achievement Foundation has officially opened nominations for the Polygon Award First Nations Art, and applications will be accepted until June 30.

Now in its 18th year, BC Achievement Foundation’s Polygon Award First Nations Art program honours B.C. artists for excellence in traditional and contemporary First Nations Art. Across mediums such as carving, painting, beading, and basket weaving, dozens of exceptional First Nations artists have been celebrated for their respective practices.

“It’s really important to tell our story because that’s who we are—we are storytellers,” says Klatle-bhi, 2023 recipient of the Polygon Award, adding that the achievement “is really quite an honour.”

A combined exhibition showcasing the 2024 recipients for both the Polygon Award First Nations Art and the Applied Art + Design Award will be held from November 18 to 24 at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre.

Nominate artists now at BC Achievement Foundation, and learn more about the nonprofit organization by visiting its website and YouTube channel.
