BC Achievement Foundation exists to honour excellence and inspire achievement throughout British Columbia. Since its founding in 2003, the non-profit organization has run five annual award programs that recognize accomplishment in the areas of community leadership, applied art + design, First Nations art, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and reconciliation.

There’s no shortage of excellence in British Columbia. For 19 years, BC Achievement Foundation has celebrated the province’s finest. The only organization of its kind in Canada to honour entrepreneurs, artists, leaders, visionaries, and volunteers, BC Achievement shares the singular stories of these exceptional individuals.

Now more than ever, it’s important to recognize those who are committed to excellence in their field and nominate them for their accomplishments.

On June 1, nominations open for BC Achievement’s Indigenous Business Award, the Fulmer Award in First Nations Art, and the Carter Wosk Award in Applied Art + Design for 2022.

The Indigenous Business Award honours and inspires Indigenous entrepreneurship, offering space for recipients to showcase their achievements and highlight how they build bridges between BC’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous economies. Ventures that are acknowledged with an Indigenous Business Award provide new opportunities for people and foster stronger relationships, ultimately making all of our communities across the province more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous. A driving force in B.C.’s economy, these businesses deserve to be recognized for their success, effort, skill, courage, and diversity. Nominations are open from June 1 to 30 and can be submitted here.

The inspiring work of BC’s First Nations artists is captured through the Fulmer Award in First Nations Art program, which celebrates the place where art, culture, and commerce meet. The Fulmer Award honours diverse First Nations traditions that permeate artwork ranging from beadwork and carving to mask-making and weaving. In recognizing artistic excellence, the award also creates a platform for engagement, mentorship, and storytelling. Nominations are open from June 1 to July 7 at this link.

The Carter Wosk Award in Applied Art + Design honours British Columbians whose work directly contributes to the cultural and economic fabric of the province, shining a light on functional art. The awardees of the Carter Wosk program enhance day-to-day life for individuals while enriching our collective experiences. Nominations are open from June 1 to July 14 here
