VANCOUVERITES WILL HAVE more time to catch Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience.

Organizers have extended the multimedia show’s run by a week, meaning it will now run till January 14 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East.

The immersive journey through the Ancient Egypt runs through the holidays, with hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 10 am to 5 pm and the only closures on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Beyond King Tut digs deep into the child’s life and beyond, journeying from the era in which he ruled to the present day via archival materials, photos, videos, text, audio, storytelling, and animation. There’s an extensive multimedia section about the laborious, meticulous rituals involved in preparing King Tut’s body to journey to the afterlife. The largest of the nine galleries is the main projection space, where you can sit on a replica boat to watch the 23-minute video loop all around you. You can read our review of it here.

National Geographic's travelling show commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tut's tomb. You can find more info here.
