Culture Crawl artists design custom art growlers in support of Vancouver’s Eastside Arts Society
The sixth annual Art, Bike & Beer Crawl Fundraiser Auction also offers beer and (kom)bucha tote bags full of goodies by East Van makers for purchase

GREAT BEER AND great art go together, and they also happen to be two things that flourish on Vancouver’s eastside.
The Eastside Arts Society—producers of the Eastside Culture Crawl—bring them together for its annual Art, Bike & Beer Crawl Fundraiser.
Now in its sixth year, the event is offering two ways to lend support, with funds going toward the EAS mission to promote local arts and culture through community engagement. (See Stir’s article on the society’s plan to create the Eastside Arts District.)
One way to take part is to bid on a series of original, custom art growlers created by 23 Crawl artists, including Nadia Baker, Christine Breakell-Lee, Niina Chebry, Maggie Chow, Gusakova, Kayan Hamade, John Steil, Richard Tetrault, Jerry Whitehead, and one mystery contributor.
The Beer and Bucha totes come in custom Culture Crawl screen-printed bags by the Hive Printing.
The art growlers are available for viewing at Strange Fellows Brewing (1345 Clark Drive) and online.
Then there’s the option to purchase a Beer or a Bucha Tote.
Beer Totes, $50, include four beers from the event’s 10 partner breweries; an Earnest Ice Cream scoop card; Uprising Bakery pair of flying pig iced sugar cookies; East Van Bees 4-pack lip balm; bag of Hardbite Chips; and a DIY art tour map, all in a custom Culture Crawl screen-printed tote by The Hive Printing. (This item is for folks aged 19 and up; purchasers can ask for a charitable tax receipt.)
In addition to Strange Fellows, partner breweries include Andina Brewing Company, Container Brewing, Bomber Brewing, East Van Brewing Company, Luppolo Brewing Company, Off the Rail Brewing Co, Parallel 49 Brewing Company, Red Truck Beer, and Strom Brewing Ltd.
Bucha totes, $25, include one bottle of Bucha Brew Kombucha; Earnest Ice Cream scoop card; Uprising Bakery pair of flying pig iced sugar cookies; East Van Bees 4-pack lip balm; bag of Hardbite Chips; one set of colouring sheets of Crawl artist art plus a set of 12 pencil crayons or a collage kit by Crawl artist Kate MacDonald (includes two pages of collage cut outs, card stock substrate, and glue stick); and a DIY art tour map.
