J. Patrick Raftery is presenting A Spanish Hour? at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in the Telus Studio Theatre on July 27 at 2 pm and 5 pm.

Directed and produced by Raftery alongside music director Gordon Gerrard, A Spanish Hour? reimagines Maurice Ravel’s 1911 French one-act opera L’heure espagnole with an all–LGBTQ2SIA+ cast and crew.

The production takes place in 21st-century Toronto, and the scene is set when a person has just one hour a week that their spouse is out of the house, what are they to do? Invite their lovers over, of course, and their lovers too—before being interrupted by a couple of strangers.

A Spanish Hour? stars Madison Craig as Toto, Andrew Love as Ramiro, David Walsh as Conception, Spencer Britten as Gonzalve, and Simran Claire as Dawn.

Tickets and more details are at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
