COASTAL JAZZ & Blues, which organizes the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, has just announced a fall series of live music at The Ironworks.

IronFest: A Fall Jazz Concert Series runs from November 18 to November 20, with six performances over those three nights—via shows at 7 and 9:30 each evening.

The first night kicks off with guitarist Bill Coon’s quartet, joined by sax master Campbell Ryga. That show is followed by a performance by oud player-singer Emad Armoush’s acclaimed, culture-crossing Rayhan, featuring clarinetist François Houle, violinist/effects player Jesse Zubot, trumpet-electronics player JP Carter, and drummer Kenton Loewen in fresh interpretations of Arabic songs.

Neo-soul and jazz songstress Krystle Dos Santos takes the stage on the second evening, followed by the energized improvisationalists of the trio Handmade Blade (cellist Peggy Lee, guitarist Aram Bajakian, and trumpeter JP Carter.

The final evening wraps with Jodi Proznick’s New Horizons project, with cellist Peggy Lee, guitarist Aram Bajakian, and trumpeter JP Carter, as well as James Meger’s How To Do Nothing and its adventurous explorations of free improvisation, electro-acoustic composition, jazz, metal, noise, and song.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 20 at 10 am at www.coastaljazz.ca.

All patrons must show proof of vaccination to enter, and Coastal Jazz & Blues Society is requiring all staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated.
