Crafted Vancouver’s Gallery Talks host Brent Comber, Tracey Bush, May 5
The virtual event explores how the environment influences the artists’ work
The Gallery Talks at Crafted Vancouver host Brent Comber and Tracey Bush on May 5 from 10 to 11 am PDT online.
ARTISTS TRACEY BUSH and Brent Comber share a fascination for the natural world, although they come at it from different angles.
Comber, who began working with wood as a garden designer in the early 1990s, sustainably sources other local materials such as stone and glass to design sculpted objects, functional pieces, and designed environments. He’s greatly influenced by the Pacific Northwest.
Bush, who’s based in the U.K., draws from the busy urban space in her cut-paper pieces and artist’s books that evoke the traditions of Natural History collecting.
Their art is a response to the environment and people’s connection—or lack of connection—to it.
Hosted by jaggedart Gallery, the conversation will be moderated by Isabelle Fish of Rue Pigalle and will explore their artistic processes and the stories they seek to share through their art.
More information is at Crafted Vancouver.
