Get ready to be transported to the enchanting world of Oz as CTORA Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz (RSC Version) at the Granville Island Stage from November 3 to 12. Opening night is on November 3 at 7 pm.

This breathtaking production, presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC, is a faithful adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s timeless novel. It features music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, and background music by Herbert Stothart. Adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, this rendition recreates the beloved songs and iconic moments from the 1939 film.

In the spellbinding tale, young Dorothy Gale is whisked away from her Kansas farm by a tornado, and finds herself in the whimsical land of Oz. Along her journey, she encounters a captivating array of characters, including good witches, talking animals, walking scarecrows, and magical wonders.

To find her way back home, she must follow the Yellow Brick Road to the enigmatic and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. As she forges new friendships, Dorothy must also confront perilous challenges—including the relentless pursuit of the Wicked Witch of the West, who covets Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. Throughout her adventures, Dorothy learns the invaluable lesson that “there’s no place like home.”
