In a COVID pivot, East Van Panto: Alice in Wonderland moves strictly online
It’s a virtual rabbit hole for the rest of the show’s run
Theatre Replacement and the Cultch present East Van Panto: Alice in Wonderland via on-demand digial stream until January 2.
WITH THINGS CHANGING daily with respect to B.C.’s COVID cases, the Cultch and Theatre Replacement have announced that the remainder of this year’s Panto will run online.
“Out of an abundance of caution and safety, the in person performances of East Van Panto: Alice in Wonderland are cancelled…to the closing performance on Jan 2 at 2 pm,” the two arts organizations said in a December 26 ticket holder update.
“We're sad we won't be able to see you in person, but the good news is you'll still be able to see the Panto this year with our amazing on-demand digital version!” they said. “Panto On Demand brings all the laughs and heart of this critically acclaimed production to your home. Now, you can watch Panto from your couch while eating cookies. Start, stop, rewind, watch again!”
If there is a price difference between tickets, people can request a tax receipt, credit on account, gift certificate, exchange, or refund.
It’s the latest response to rising Omicron cases, with theatres and performing-arts venues restricted to maximum 50-percent capacity regardless of their size by order of the provincial public health officer.
Visit Theatre Replacement or the Cultch for tickets and more information.
