Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) presents The Show, an exhibition that spotlights works by the university’s 2025 graduating class, from May 7 to 21 at the Great Northern Way campus.

This year’s edition of The Show is ECU’s largest yet, featuring over 420 works from all five degree programs. Discover the next generation of creative leaders at this multidisciplinary annual graduate exhibition.

Visitors can explore a vibrant collection of work across the art, media, and design disciplines for free, both on campus and online. The fine-art pieces on display span illustration, photography, ceramics, print media, painting, drawing, sculpture, and beyond. In the realm of media, there’s 2D experimental animation, 3D and computer animation, film and screen arts, and sound art. Visitors will also find bold and imaginative projects in communication, interaction, and industrial design.

Through innovative installations that feature elements such as interactivity, immersion, and future-facing concepts, The Show helps uncover how today’s emerging practitioners are shaping culture, industry, and community.

Held annually, The Show serves as a public celebration of the bold ideas and exceptional talent emerging from Canada’s top-ranked art and design university. The event showcases unique student perspectives, skills, and values that define a practice-based education. ECU alumni include some of the world’s most influential creative figures, such as Stan Douglas, Sonny Assu, Neko Case, Brian Jungen, Douglas Coupland, and Annie Liu. The Show is where visitors can discover who is next.

For film enthusiasts, the exhibition also features the premiere of several Dynamic Media Screenings in the Reliance Theatre on campus. At The Show, there truly is something for everyone, from long-time arts lovers to folks who are curious about emerging talent.
