Friends of Chamber Music welcomes the Pražák Quartet for a return visit to the Vancouver Playhouse on November 10 at 3 pm.

Established in 1972 while its members were students at the Prague Conservatory, the Pražák Quartet is a regular guest in major European musical capitals such as Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan, Madrid, London, Berlin, and Munich. The group has performed at countless international festivals, toured North America extensively, and released more than 50 CDs for Praga Digitals, many of which are award-winning.

The Pražák Quartet consists of violinists Jana Vonášková and Marie Magdalena Fuxová, violist Josef Klusoň, and cellist Pavel Jonáš Krejčí. The upcoming program rooted in classic Bohemian and Czech traditions will include Milhaud’s String Quartet No. 1, Op. 5; Smetana’s String Quartet No. 2 in D minor; and Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96, “American”.
