The Billboard Project unveils Google Oracle Series #4, to March 31
Vancouver artist Jessica Bushey’s work is in Strathcona, the same ‘hood as Mónica Reyes Gallery
Jessica Bushey’s work is on view in Strathcona through March, as part of , the same ‘hood as Mónica Reyes Gallery’s ongoing Billboard Project.
Mónica Reyes Gallery’s Billboard Project aims to make art more accessible to the public, while reminding people that amid these pandemic days of isolation, they’re not alone.
Jessica Bushey, who creates artifacts that reflect on the relationship between people and computer programs, is the latest local artist to have their work featured. Google Oracle Series #4 is now on display in Strathcona at 1000 Block East Hastings overpass near Glen Drive until the end of March. Its location isn’t far from the gallery, at 602 East Hastings Street.
“The Google-Oracle 2020 series presents a chronological progression of our global experience of COVID-19 through captures of the most popular searches from around the world,” the gallery’s website says. “Plexiglass and ‘disposable-mask blue’ ink recall the prominent artifacts of the period.”
Kathy Slade, Robert Kleyn and Manuel Piña, and Sebastian Maquieira are other artists who have been featured on billboards throughout the city.
More information about the Billboard Project is at Mónica Reyes Gallery.
