JCCGV launches inaugural Chanukah Market, November 28
Klezmer music, hand-made gifts, artisanal chocolates, and more on-site to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights
Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver presents the Chanukah Market, November 28 from 11 am to 5 pm at the JCCGV.
IT’S A FIRST: the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is hosting its inaugural Chanukah Market in celebration of the Jewish festival of lights. Admission is free with a donation to the Jewish Food Bank and the day’s festivities culminate in the lighting of the first candle on the menorah at sundown.
Performing live are Jerusalem singer-songwriter, harmonica player, and guitarist Anders Bentzion Nerman; the Klezbians; and the Vancouver Jewish Folk Choir, the only Hiddish choir in Canada; among others.
Vendors include Nava’s latkes and Chanukah cookies; Mink Chocolates; AM Liora Design’s resin jewellery and accessories; artwork by Maxine Woogman; glass straws and Torah pointers from Glass Sipper; FlowShibori’s one of a kind Shibori hand-dyed articles; WAXYJAXX Candle Co candles, and more.
And for nosh, there are food trucks Meet2Eat, Beaver Tails, BurgerHolic, and Coffee Bike Vancouver.
