The festivities will take place all day on July 6 along West 4th Avenue between Burrard Street and Macdonald Street. The Maple Stage will be located in the West 4th Avenue Plaza at Maple Street, and guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy a park-vibe feel. Artists will be performing on the Maple Stage every hour, on the hour: Devon More at 12 pm, Michael Slumber at 1 pm, Kaya Ko at 2 pm, Tennyson King at 3 pm, Sail Cassady at 4 pm, Amanda Sum at 5 pm, Sam Lynch at 6 pm, and Devours at 7 pm.
Devours, headlining the Maple Stage this year, is the DIY underground-pop project of Vancouver–based artist Jeff Cancade. It was just announced that their most recent album Homecoming Queen, released on May 9, 2023, has made the long list of nominees for this year’s Polaris Music Prize.
Across four acclaimed underground albums, Devours has written confessional and confrontational electronic music about masculinity, body image, gay love, and the darker side of queer existence. They have toured Canada and the U.S., received coverage from the likes of VICE, Xtra Magazine, and Exclaim!, and have performed at festivals spanning Treefort Music Fest in Boise, Idaho; Up Here Festival in Sudbury, Ontario; and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
Visit the Maple Stage to experience the unique blend of the Khatsahlano Street Party’s dynamic street-festival energy and the Vancouver Folk Music Festival’s deep-rooted musical heritage. It’s a partnership designed to bring guests the best of both worlds, ensuring an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and community spirit.
