Love at 752 honours second anniversary of attack on flight PS752, January 8
Majid Tafreshi’s one-act play is a surrealist exploration of the missile attack on Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752
alma matters productions presents Love at 752 on January 8 at 7 pm at Kay Meek Arts Centre’s McEwen Theatre in West Vancouver.
JANUARY 8, 2022 marks the second anniversary of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752’s downing just three minutes after take-off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport by missiles of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. All 176 people on board died.
In honour of this tragic date, alma matters productions is presenting a live performed stage reading of Love at 752, a new one-act play by Majid Tafreshi.
In Tafreshi’s surrealist exploration of the event, an aspiring musician wakes to find a mysterious woman in his bed. She is Death, sent to prepare him for his journey to the next world and help him understand his fate.
Directed by Sarah Marchand, the performance features Tafreshi and Aixa Kay.
Twenty percent of all ticket proceeds will be donated to PS752Justice, an association that aims to seek justice, unite grieving families, and keep the memories of the passengers alive.
Launched in 2016, alma matters productions works to elevate underrepresented stories through the power of theatre.
