Turning Point Ensemble releases video trailer for Interactive concert June 11

Composers David Eagle and Mauricio Pauly perform live electronics alongside TPE players

Turning Point Ensemble has just released the trailer for TPE Interactive, an online concert featuring works by innovative composers David Eagle and Mauricio Pauly on June 11 at 7:30 pm.

The virtual concert was recorded on April 19 and 20 in the Chan Shun Concert Hall at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

Eagle’s compositions—Two Forms of Intuition (2011) and Unremembered Tongues/ʌnɹɪmembəɹd tʌŋz (2013)—use interactive computer applications. Pauly’s compositions—Clinamen clinamen clinamen (2008) and the brand new We en flor de chiflón—are written for hybrid instrumental-electronic and acoustic ensembles. Both composers perform live interactive electronics alongside the ensemble during this concert.

Check out the trailer above for an idea of the sonic experimentation that TPE artistic director Owen Underhill has called “challenging and rewarding”.
