The day wraps up with a free concert at the Orpheum at 8 pm conducted by VSO music director Otto Tausk. On the program are Mikhail Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila; Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty: Suite, Op. 66a; selections from Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (New World); Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl); Pablo de Sarasate’s Fantasy of Bizet’s “Carmen”, Op. 25; and Igor Stravinsky’s Firebird: Berceuse and Finale.
