We Care laughs it up in support of health-care heroes, at The Improv Centre throughout June
The Granville Island improv-theatre company partners with philanthropist David McCann for Theatresports-format performances
The Improv Centre and David McCann present We Care: A Night of Laughter for Health Care Workers June 7 at 7:30 pm, June 12 at 2 pm, June 21 at 7:30 pm, and June 26th at 7:30 pm
IF LAUGHTER REALLY is the best medicine, health-care workers are in for a dose. Through support from Granville Island donor David McCann, The Improv Centre is presenting free performances dedicated to and exclusively for these folks.
We Care: A Night of Laughter for Health Care Workers is a 90-minute show in TIC’s most popular format, Theatresports. The bar and lounge will be open an hour before showtime with featured drink specials.
McCann was moved to give back after seeing demonstrators outside local hospitals last year while staff struggled and worked inside to save lives.
“There are not enough words in the English language to express my admiration for these unsung heroes,” McCann says in a release. “I can only hope they grasp and understand our profound depth of spirit in these two simple words: 'Thank you!’”.
