Just for Laughs VANCOUVER presents Kumail Nanjiani on February 22 at 6 pm at the Vogue Theatre

 

PAKISTANI-AMERICAN COMEDIAN, actor, and writer Kumail Nanjiani is making a local appearance at Just for Laughs VANCOUVER at the Vogue Theatre on February 22.

The funny man got his big break on The Big Sick. He cowrote the 2017 romantic comedy-drama with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, which was based on the true story of how he met her parents while she was in a medically induced coma; it earned an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay.

Other notable past projects of Nanjiani’s include Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, Marvel’s The Eternals, and HBO’s Silicon Valley as well as TV and film credits such as Bless the Harts, The Twilight Zone, Stuber, Men in Black: International, The Lovebirds, and The Lego Ninjago Movie.

 
 

Nanjiani continues to have a packed schedule, regularly performing stand-up in L.A.’s top comedy venues and participating in this year’s Netflix Is a Joke Festival. He recently earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of the Chippendales founder in Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales, on which he also served as an executive producer. Nanjiani stars in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire alongside Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon and voices a character in the Universal Pictures animated adventure Migration, available on VOD.

On the horizon, Nanjiani will star in James L. Brooks’s Ella McCay with Emma Mackey, Woody Harrelson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Albert Brooks, and he has a recurring role in the fourth season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building with Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.
