Makers get their art on at Squamish Constellation Festival, July 22 to 24
Artisan marketplace features sustainable threads, nature-inspired jewellery, and artful books
Squamish Constellation Festival takes place in Squamish’s Hendrickson Field from July 22 to 24.
FROM ART books to jewellery, the Squamish Constellation Festival Marketplace is one of the big draws this weekend up at Hendrickson Field.
Among the creative purveyors is bespoke jewellery by Squamish-based Caroline Miller Design, from sleek geometric designs to necklaces that take their cues from nature—sterling silver and bronze pendants, earrings, and other pieces inspired by everything from crab pinchers to tree branches.
Elsewhere, hit up Squamish-based Dakini Arts Apparel for sustainable bamboo-organic-cotton-and-Spandex festival wear, from cropped hoodies and tees to tube dresses and tunics. Vibrant botanical dyes set off Ecolibrium Sustainable clothing.—bamboo, hemp and organic cotton pieces for women and children. If Japanese streewear is more your vibe, check out Siamurai Apparel; think noragi kimono and samurai pants.
And keep your eye out for the hip trailer that houses The Little Bookshop, with its favourite reads, plus children’s books and playthings. Five perfect of profits go to free books for schools and kids in need.
There's much more, from botanical creams to vintage threads. Squamish Constellation Festival runs July 22 to 23, with two stages and 30 bands, including Sarah McLachlan, July Talk, Lights, and JESSIA.
