Cirque du Soleil brings the Big Top back to Vancouver with classic Alegría in March 2022
The circus spectacles are returning after a 20-month pandemic shutdown

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL has announced it’s bringing one of its most well-known spectacles back to Vancouver this spring.
Starting March 25, 2022, Alegría will show live under the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place.
Due to the pandemic, the company’s touring spectacles were shut down around the globe. Then, after 10 weeks of rehearsals, Alegría resumed performances in Texas on November 17. After engagements in Houston and Seattle, Vancouver will be the third city on the new tour.
The show coming to the West Coast is the 44th rendition of the uplifting Alegría, significantly restaged from the original that’s been seen in 255 cities across 40 countries since it premiered in 1994. In 2019, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Montreal-based Cirque team freshened up Alegría, from its acrobatics to its sets and costumes, with a reenergized cast of 53 acrobats, clowns, musicians and singers.
Tickets for Vancouver performances of Alegría are now available online to Cirque Club members, with subscriptions via cirqueclub.com. General on-sale starts on December 10 at cirquedusoleil.com/alegria.
