Firehall Arts Centre presents Joe INK's I remember... from January 15 to 18
Dancer-choreographer Joe Laughlin reflects on four decades of performances in emotional exploration of aging
The Firehall Arts Centre is ringing in the new year with Joe INK’s I remember… from January 15 to 18. The full-length work is created and performed by award-winning dancer and choreographer Joe Laughlin.
At age 63, Laughlin is a senior Canadian artist who has been performing for over 40 years. Combining dance, storytelling, and videography in an emotional, amusing, and relatable reflection on aging, this production is inspired by Laughlin’s memories and lessons learned from four decades as a dancer. In I remember…, he reflects on everything from competing in gymnastics, to working in South Africa, to collaborating with talented artists.
This piece is an exploration of a dancer’s aging body and how that informs his art now and into the future. It urges viewers to remember that they are never too old to do what they love.
Tickets and more details are available through the Firehall Arts Centre.
