Step into the enchanting world of opera as Opera West Society, in collaboration with UBC Opera, presents Jules Massenet’s Manon. This timeless French Romantic masterpiece will grace the stage at the UBC Old Auditorium on March 28 at 7:30 pm and March 30 at 2 pm.
Renowned soprano Emily Pogorelc stars as the irresistible Manon alongside celebrated tenor Frédéric Antoun as Chevalier des Grieux. Together, they weave a tale of love, passion, and destiny that has captivated audiences for over a century. Joining them are the talented students of UBC Opera, who bring fresh energy and artistry to this extraordinary production.
With Jacques Lacombe conducting and Nancy Hermiston directing, Manon promises a breathtaking blend of dramatic storytelling and stunning musicality. Audience members are invited to begin the experience with a Parisian-inspired pre-show soiree on opening night, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey.
