SFU Woodwards and DanceHouse have been working together for a decade, first on the Speaking of Dance series and then coproducing internationally acclaimed shows by the likes of Red Sky Performance and Akram Khan Company together.

This partnership continues with a copresentation of dance powerhouse Louise Lecavalier’s Stations at the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre in SFUW’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, from November 23 to 26. The one-time muse of La La La Human Steps’ Édouard Lock, Lecavalier appears here under the umbrella of her own Montreal-based company, Fou glorieux.

"We are thrilled to bring the inimitable Louise Lecavalier back to Vancouver, who was last seen on the DanceHouse stage in 2015," says Jim Smith, artistic and executive director of DanceHouse. "Her latest solo work Stations is a masterclass in the artform. Lecavalier brings together her singular dynamism, fluidity, and intimacy in this extraordinary work that serves as a deeply personal look at her lifelong relationship with dance in all its forms.”

Below, in the latest special edition of the ArtScape podcast, SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs’ Michael Boucher cohosts a talk with the legendary Lecavalier with DanceHouse’s Smith.
