COMPOSEr LESLIE UYEDA has created a new song cycle for mezzo-soprano and chamber ensemble—and it will debut here in a reflective event at the serene Celebration Hall at Mountain View Cemetery.

When I Stop Saying Your Name—Five Songs of Grief and Grieving will be presented twice in the same evening, with readings by poet Lorna Crozier, alongside the premiere of a new instrumental work by Leslie Uyeda that also deals with loss: Grief Lies Onward.

Uyeda will lead the performance from the piano, with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Krisztina Szabó, plus violinist Rebecca Whitling, flutist Mark Takeshi McGregor, clarinetist Liam Hockley, and cellist Cristian Márkos.

The concert, copresented by SUM gallery and Little Chamber Music, is free.
