Here’s an introduction to a few of the artists taking part.

Alpen-Fivers Design, Old Growth Forest

Alpen-Finvers design

At Museum of North Vancouver

Wood artist Scott Alpen and glass-sculpture artist Violet Finvers create lit sculptures from recycled and reclaimed wood and glass that reflect the images and environment of the West Coast.

“In our work we reveal the intrinsic beauty of the grain, shape and colour of the wood, allowing the natural essence of the piece to meld with organic forms created from glass,” the two share in their artist statement. “Canada's west coast is an area of vast wilderness, forests, mountains, lakes and oceans that are a constant source of inspiration and wonder to both Scott and Violet. They strive to reveal the form and flow of nature, bringing out the texture, colour and grain of the wood and glass, reflecting the beauty of British Columbia.”
