Anela Kahiamoe spreads aloha with his music, streaming October 8 and 22
The B.C.-based Oahu native plays ukelele, guitar, and lap steel guitar
The Tidemark Theatre presents Anela Kahiamoe livestreaming on October 8 and 22 at 5:30 pm.
OAHUAN-BORN ANELA Kahiamoe brings the music of Hawaii to the Tidemark Theatre for two free streaming concerts. They take place on October 8 and 22 from 5:30 to 6 pm via the Campbell River performing arts centre’s website or Facebook page.
One of only 8,000 pure Hawaiians left in the world, Kahiamoe has been a professional musician since he was 17. A veteran of the Honolulu music scene, the multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter now lives on Vancouver Island, where he performs regularly and teaches ukulele, guitar, and lap steel guitar.
His style ranges from jazz and rock to country, blues, and reggae, all with a Hawaiian influence.
Gail Johnson is a Vancouver-based journalist who has earned local and national nominations and awards for her work. She is a certified Gladue Report writer via Indigenous Perspectives Society in partnership with Royal Roads University and is a member of a judging panel for top Vancouver restaurants.
