Indian Summer Festival 2021 presents Anoushka Shankar—The Musical Journey of a Shapeshifter online to July 17,
ANOUSHKA SHANKAR learned to become a sitarist from one of the world’s best: her father, Pandit Ravi Shankar. She was 13 when she made her professional debut and 18 when she launched a touring career, going on to become the first Indian woman musician to be nominated for a Grammy, with seven nominations to her name.
The esteemed multidisciplinary artist is now sharing an exclusive performance for Indian Summer Festival with the Musical Journey of a Shapeshifter. She’ll delve into her artistic influences and inspirations and divulge personal insights into how she responds to humanitarian and social-justice issues through her music. The virtual event all wraps up with an acoustic performance from her home.
While Shankar’s performance kicked off ISF2021, a video of the show is available until midnight PDT July 17 for a one-time-viewing per ticket.
