Indian Summer Festival presents self-guided walking tours of the Punjabi Market until July 17
SMELL INCENSE, grab a samosa, and check out new culture-crossing public artworks at the Punjabi Market, as the Indian Summer Festival’s ongoing audio tour gives you new insights on the area stretching down from Main Street and 51st Avenue.
Once you download it with a map, the tour is narrated by artists, shop owners, and community members, who muse on the past, present, and vibrant future of the Vancouver neighborhood.
You can go anytime, but note that the market is most active from 11:30 am to 6 pm, with many businesses in the market closed on Tuesdays. Insider tip? Hit the ‘hood around lunchtime, go on an empty stomach, and follow your nose as much as your ears.
