Vancouver International Jazz Festival launches new ROAMER Pass for Granville Island ticketed shows

VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL JAZZ Festival is putting its new ROAMER Pass on sale tomorrow at 10 am, with presale tickets and passes available to donors now at  www.coastaljazz.ca.

The new offering will allow jazz fans access to its ticketed shows across Granville Island between June 24 and July 2: Performance Works, Ocean Artworks, and the Revue Stage. The $295 price tag covers 22 concerts, along with one drink ticket per day plus other perks.

At the same time, organizers at Coastal Jazz and Blues Society have announced programming for the 2023 fest’s Performance Works series on Granville Island.

Things kick off June 25 with female jazz supergroup The Ostara Project, helmed by by Jodi Proznick on bass and Amanda Tosoff on piano. West Africa’s first female Kora virtuoso Sona Jobarteh hits the stage June 28. Harpist Brandee Younger performs June 29, while the next night, Tuscarora- and Taino-heritage vocalist, slide guitarist, and activist Pura Fé joins an ensemble featuring virtuosic violinist and composer Jesse Zubot. July 1, catch Chicago- and Brooklyn-based saxophonist Isaiah Collier with The Chosen Few, and July 2, watch for South African jazz leader Nduduzo Makhathini.

The 38th jazz fest is moving forward with 140 shows, including more than 50 free performances, around town from June 23 to July 2. The
