Pride Brunch at ARC Restaurant serves up bottomless tasting plates, live drag performances

ONE OF THE hottest events at the annual Vancouver Pride Festival is the Pride Brunch at Fairmont Waterfront’s ARC Restaurant.
Featuring bottomless tasting plates and live drag performances, it all goes down August 2, with two seatings, at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm PDT.
On the Pride “recovery” brunch menu are buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, avocado toast, Liege waffles, jerk fried chicken, salmon Benedict, beef short rib poutine, braised pork cheeks, Croque Madame, breakfast tacos, and much more. Then there are special Pride Rainbow pancakes.

An activist and icon, Gender is the face of Fairmont Pride for the Vancouver Fairmont hotels. As their official Pride ambassador, she has supported the local properties’ 2SLGBTQIA+ members by taking part in various initiatives in recent years, including being on the Fairmont float for the past three parades. Gender has also served lunch in the colleague cafeteria at Fairmont Waterfront, answering people’s questions about issues such as gender, the importance of pronouns, and the intersectionality of the Black Lives Matter and 2SLGBTQIA+ movements.
Pride Brunch costs $59 per person, with $5 from every guest being donated to the Vancouver Pride Society, supporting 2SLGBTQAI+ organizations and charities.
Under the leadership of executive chef Michael Pagnacco, ARC Restaurant focuses on West Coast fare made with locally sourced ingredients, many of them from the hotel’s own rooftop herb garden and beehives.
The brunch sells out every year, so early reservations are recommended.
