For Earth Day, Beetbox plant-based restaurant chips in to help kids connect with nature
The vegetarian Vancouver eatery is helping send children from low-income families to Saplings Outdoor Program
APRIL 22 IS Earth Day, and Vancouver plant-based restaurant Beetbox is celebrating with a new feature and a donation to help kids connect with nature.
Chef Bryan Satterford has created Vegan Quesabirria Tacos, with braised oyster mushrooms, Mexican chilies, and jalapeño-studded “cheeze” served with spicy mushroom consommé for dipping ($9.50, available till April 26).
Plus, for every Crispy Chick-Un Sandwich sold until April 26, Beetbox will donate one dollar to help low-income families from around the Lower Mainland send their children to camps organized by the Saplings Outdoor Program. The forest school connects kids with the natural world, giving them the opportunity to explore the outdoors and discover a deep sense of wonder and love for learning. If people opt to leave an extra donation, Beetbox will match it.
