The Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs welcomes audiences to a musical garden with SpringSong: Flora & Fauna, an evening of works about animals and living beings, at the Pacific Spirit United Church on March 11 at 7 pm.
Offering a mixture of whimsy and reverence for Mother Nature, the concert features the singers of the Vancouver Bach Children’s Choirs—including Toccata, Partita, Chorale, and Chorus—led by conductors Marisa Gaetanne and Catherine Campolin with pianists Kin Ming Wong and Jeon Mok.
On the program is choral music about nature, including the “Bee-Bop” song from The Bee Musical; “Ombra mai fu”, an aria by Handel about the healing and solace offered by the forest; the “Flower Duet” from the French opera Lakmé; “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” from The Lion King; J.S. Bach’s aria “Mein gläubiges Herze (My Trusting Heart)”; and many more.
Tickets are available through the Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs.
